There are two buildings that define the Philadelphia skyline — One Liberty Place and Two Liberty Place. The first is a well known commercial office tower home to some of Philadelphia’s most prominent law firms and financial services companies. The second holds the Residences at Two Liberty Place, 117 luxury condominium residences soaring high above the city at 50 South 16th Street, in the heart of Center City. One Liberty Place was completed in 1987, officially breaking the gentleman’s agreement that no building would exceed the height of William Penn’s hat on top of City Hall, followed by the completion of Two Liberty Place in 1990. The result is two buildings that permanently changed the Philadelphia skyline.

What began as exclusively commercial space was later reimagined — Two Liberty Place converted its upper floors to residential use in two phases. The first phase established the building’s residential presence, while the second converted floors 48 through 57, adding an additional 55 residences and bringing the total to 117 luxury condominium homes. The residences are among the highest residential floors in the city, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing panoramic city skyline and river views.

Original finishes included Miele and Sub-Zero appliances, Snaidero cabinetry, marble countertops, and Kohler fixtures. Many units have since been customized and redesigned by individual owners. Units range from just over 1,100 square feet to over 5,500 square feet for each of the building’s two half-floor penthouses, with the upper floors featuring dramatic angular windows created by the building’s iconic design.

Amenities include a 24-hour doorman and concierge, an endless pool and fitness center, yoga studio, sauna and steam, home theater, business center, chauffeur-driven town car, pet spa, and direct access to The Shops at Liberty Place. The building’s full service standard is consistent with its position as one of Philadelphia’s most established luxury addresses.

Two Liberty Place is centrally located between Rittenhouse Square and the Avenue of the Arts. The building connects directly to The Shops at Liberty Place, the Westin Philadelphia Hotel, and an underground parking garage, offering residents access to shopping, dining, parking, and hotel services — all without stepping outside. The views from the residential floors are among the most dramatic in Philadelphia — a distinction that has deemed Two Liberty Place the “Neighborhood in the Sky.” Suburban Station, with regional rail service to New York, Washington D.C., and Boston, is a short walk from the front door, as well as access to PHL International.
